Jim Cassidy Named Local Labor Leader of the Year

Jim Cassidy, Business Manager of Local 2, will be named Local Labor Leader of the Year as part of the 15th Annual Pittsburgh Transportation, Building & Construction Awards Luncheon. The event honors the accomplishments of leaders in both the public and private sectors of the transportation, building, and construction industries.

Cassidy fights for labor rights not only on behalf of his own union, but for unions across Western Pennsylvania, making him a pillar of the community. He has dedicated his career to securing jobs for Local 2 members and ensuring they receive strong retirement and benefit packages.

As a mental health awareness advocate, Cassidy also emphasizes the importance of valuing mental health as much as physical health and encourages union members not to be afraid to ask for help.

The luncheon, hosted by March of Dimes, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the health of mothers and babies, will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 30.

The event raises awareness surrounding premature births and infant mortality rates. March of Dimes is currently seeking sponsors for the event, which will aid in funding research, education and comfort for grieving families.
